DIY Wedding Projects for the Couple on a Budget

DIY Projects are a great way to cut back on wedding costs and stretch your budget to the fullest.  Possible DIY Wedding Projects include decorative flowers, wedding favors, invitation, save-the-date cards, hair ornaments, wedding purses and other accessories.

However, the biggest challenge about do-it-yourself projects is managing time.  If you have less than 6 months to go before the big day, then perhaps your best option is to find a wedding supplier that offers that most affordable deal.

On the other hand, if you still have 6 months or more time to go before the wedding date, then you may consider DIY.  Below are some DIY wedding tips to help you get started:

Focus on the Theme.  You will be confronted with a lot of different choices.  Use your theme as a guide in choosing and making decisions.

Be inspired.  Browse through bridal magazines and wedding sites for inspiration.

Get in touch with your own style.
Gather ideas but don’t be afraid to add your personal touch because after all, it is your wedding.

Ask for help!  Sure, it’s a DIY project but don’t attempt to take on the project without back-up.  You can assign tasks to your maid-of-honor, best man, bridesmaids, family members and friends.  Surely, all of them would be willing to lend a hand to make the wedding special.

Embellish.  Instead of creating from scratch, you can purchase plain ready-made items at a cheap price and add embellishments to recreate a unique design to match your theme.  For example, you can buy organza pouches or plain gift boxes, tie them up with ribbons and fill them up with your choice of goodies.

Be realistic.  Before getting involved in a big project, try creating just a small batch to see if you can get the desired results.  It will also give you a better idea as to the actual cost and time you can consume.

Enjoy it Aside from saving money, this is the perfect time for you to spend bonding moments with your friends and family so enjoy the process.

4 Cs to Consider When Buying Diamonds

When it comes to engagement rings, diamond engagement rings are still the most popular. Here are 4 important Cs that you should consider before buying:

Cut. The most important factor  when evaluating diamonds. It's not just about the shape but symmetry and harmony of sides. Diamonds are either cut the "brilliant cut" style or the "step cut"style.  The step cut style have larger and rectangular facets, reflecting thelight at varying levels, making the inclusions more obvious.

On the other hand, the brilliant cut style have either triangular or kite-shaped facets. Because of it's intricacy, this cut requires more precision.  The cut maximizes the diamond's natural ability to reflect light upwards, giving the piece the best brilliance.

Color. Absolutely colorless and full color diamonds are the rarest and therefore more expensive. The first class color grade is colorless because it will pick up the color of the gold it is set into.

Clarity. This refers to the noticeable markings, inclusions, or scratches found either inside or on the surface the stone.

Carat weight. Finally, there is the issue of weight. Obviously, the great the carat weight is, the more the value, and the higher the price. If you want a larger diamond, then perhaps you can save your money by choosing one with a lower classification of color and clarity.
